Duties
- Lead daily pharmacy operations, ensuring adherence to all federal and state regulations, including HIPAA privacy standards and pharmacy law compliance.
- Oversee medication dispensing processes, including compounding medications and preparing IV infusions using aseptic technique.
- Manage inventory control, including stock levels, medication ordering, expiration tracking, and cost-effective procurement strategies.
- Supervise pharmacy staff and technicians, providing mentorship, training on pharmacy software systems, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care plans through medical management and accurate documentation within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems.
- Maintain compliance with all safety protocols related to physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, IV insertion techniques, and aseptic procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience as a licensed pharmacist with prior leadership roles such as Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist in Charge.
- Extensive clinical pharmacy experience across hospital settings or acute care environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in sterile compounding pharmacy operations preferred.
- Strong background in patient service delivery including patient assessment and education on medication administration.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools.
- Hands-on experience with compounding medications and IV infusion preparation using aseptic technique.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy relevant to pharmacology practices.
