Maintenance Technician

We are looking to hire an experienced technician in the wastewater/septic space, or train new maintenance technicians that have the background, skills, and problem solving capacity require to do the job well. Candidates for this position will need a clean driving record and we will check for a criminal background.

You will be required to study for and pass a licensing exam to become an OSSF technician. No prior experience or knowledge is necessary, but this role requires someone who is a problem solver, mechanically inclined, and enjoys working outdoors.

The long term goal for our maintenance technicians is to manage their own list of customers as if they were their own small business- responsible for managing your own time and performance under our guidance, training, and technology.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
• Utilize phone and tablet based software to report, quote, and communicate accurately.
• Capable of working all day, everyday in and outdoor environment (rain or shine), with manual labor (digging, trenching), electrical, and plumbing skills involved.
• Supervise junior maintenance staff or contractors during complex repair projects, providing leadership and guidance.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures during all maintenance activities.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Mechanical knowledge related to machinery maintenance and repair.
• Ability to read technical schematics and use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively.
• Supervising experience demonstrating leadership in a maintenance environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team coordination.
• Customer service mindset when interacting with internal clients or external vendors.
