Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent knife skills, and experience working in fast-paced kitchen environments. This role involves preparing ingredients, cooking dishes, and ensuring food safety standards are maintained to deliver high-quality meals for our guests. Previous experience in fine dining, catering, or restaurant settings is highly valued, and candidates should be committed to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assist in meal assembly according to menu specifications
- Cook a variety of dishes with attention to presentation and quality standards
- Follow recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Assist with menu planning and suggest improvements based on customer feedback
- Ensure all food safety protocols are adhered to during food preparation and service
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods, including plating, garnishing, and serving dishes as needed
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, ovens, and other culinary tools
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation to minimize waste
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within restaurants or catering services
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Experience in fine dining or high-volume kitchens is preferred
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Previous dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus
- Culinary expirence advantageous but not required
