POSITION: Maintenance Operator
STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
SALARY: $31,200
Hours: 30 Hours per week, Monday – Thursday (Flexibility when special events, holidays, or facility needs arise)
REPORTS TO: Business Manager
RELATES CLOSELY TO: Pastors, Staff, Board of Trustees
DESCRIPTION: To assist the Business Manager in creating a clean and welcoming environment that helps families, guests, and members feel comfortable, safe, and motivated.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in general maintenance, handyman tasks, or facility support.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., move, and set up chairs, tables, and equipment regularly.
- Experience with basic tools and simple repairs.
- Good communication and ability to follow instructions.
- Comfortable working alone or alongside staff and volunteers.
- Supports the mission, vision, and values of Snellville Community Church.
- Teachable spirit, dependable, and ability to work with staff, volunteers, ministry leaders, and guests.
- Shows integrity and a heart to serve with a positive and can-do attitude.
- 3-5 years of experience as a handyman or the equivalent.
- High School diploma required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Facility Setup and Teardown
- Set up and tear down chairs, tables, staging, and equipment for worship services, classes, ministries, and events.
- Reset rooms to their standard layout after events.
- Work with the Business Manager and staff to confirm room layouts and event needs.
- Support Sunday morning setup as assigned.
General Maintenance and Campus Care
- Perform basic handyman-level repairs, including tightening loose fixtures, level 1 HVAC maintenance, level 1 plumbing and electrical, replacing ceiling tiles, patching small holes, swapping light bulbs, and minor paint touch-ups.
- Handle "break and fix" tasks that do not require licensed or certified work.
- Assist with routine facility checks and report any plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or major repair issues directly to the Business Manager.
- Help keep hallways, entrances, and ministry spaces clean, orderly, and safe.
- Prepare spaces or equipment for preferred contractors when they are scheduled.
- Walk alongside contractors as needed to ensure access, clarity, and safety.
- Participates in the required fire and life safety inspections.
- Follow all church processes for maintenance requests.
Project Assistance
- Assist the Business Manager with weekly and seasonal work projects.
- Notify the Business Manager quickly when licensed work is needed.
- Support large campus tasks such as campus clean-up days, storage organization, holiday décor setup, and event prep.
- Serve as primary contact for fire and life safety emergencies.
- Help maintain tools, supplies, and storage areas in an organized and ready-to-use condition.
Success in This Role Looks Like
- Rooms are ready on time and set up correctly.
- Minor (level one) repairs are handled quickly, and larger issues are reported right away.
- The Business Manager has dependable support for weekly tasks and projects.
- The campus feels clean, safe, and welcoming for all who come.

Pay: $30, $31,200.00 per year
