About The Role
Bison Health provides outpatient substance use disorder treatment and case management delivered via telehealth. We keep client loads small so you can go beyond group facilitation and truly support people in rebuilding their lives, whether that means helping someone secure housing, apply for benefits, build a resume, or practice for a job interview. We give you the time, tools, and trust to create meaningful change.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a small-team, startup environment and is comfortable working independently. Because this role is remote, you should be confident using Zoom and other virtual tools. Experience in both group facilitation and case management is required.
As a new and growing agency, your voice matters here. You'll help build our programs, shape our culture, and define what exceptional care looks like.
Estimated hours: 80–160 hours per month. Late evening availability is required to run night groups and accommodate client needs.
Core Principle
- Relentless Advocacy: doing whatever it takes to make sure your client gets the support they need to succeed
Responsibilities
- Case management: Support clients in navigating and connecting to services such as medical care, job placement assistance, housing resources, legal aid, and related community supports
- Conduct assessments: Evaluate client needs using ASAM criteria and create individualized treatment plans.
- Facilitate IOP/OP groups: Lead engaging, evidence-based groups that spark real conversations and connection. This includes:
- Come prepared: Review the assigned group curriculum in advance of each session to ensure smooth, impactful facilitation.
- Be on time, be present: Arrive 10 minutes before scheduled group sessions and facilitate the full duration of each group.
- Support long-term recovery: Guide clients in developing meaningful recovery skills and support lasting change through therapeutic structure, compassion, and creativity.
- Foster engagement: Build connection and cohesion in every session. Promote active participation, maintain a camera-on culture when applicable, and create space for every voice.
- Provide 1:1 counseling: Support clients through personalized care, progress tracking, and relapse prevention.
- Complete timely documentation: Complete all documentation in line with agency and state standards, within 24 hours.
- Engage with clients' support systems: Including family members, friends, or caseworkers, when clinically appropriate, to better understand client needs and enhance individualized care planning.
- Be proactive: Follow up with clients who miss appointments to let them know they're seen, valued, and not alone, and work with them to remove obstacles and re-engage in care, no matter how small the step forward may be.
- Be a team player: Attend weekly meetings with supervisors, peers, and leadership.
- Respond promptly: Respond to all email and Slack communications quickly to ensure clear and timely collaboration.
- Uphold ethics and boundaries: Model professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical boundaries in all client and team interactions.
