We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in Azure API Management and API Management gateways.

The ideal candidate will excel in building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure with Bicep, Terraform, or ARM, and deploying cloud-native services on Azure. Hands-on experience with API publishing, governance, and security best practices is essential. The working hours for this position closely align with the UTC+4 time zone.

This position offers remote setup with the flexibility to work from any location in Georgia, whether it's your home, well-equipped offices in Tbilisi and Batumi or a coworking space in Kutaisi.

Responsibilities

  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, ensuring automated deployments and consistent delivery
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code with Bicep, Terraform, or ARM templates for scalable and repeatable environments
  • Deploy and operate cloud-native services, including Azure Functions, Web Apps, API Gateway, WAF, Container Apps, and AKS, applying Kubernetes orchestration best practices
  • Publish and govern APIs through Azure API Management, applying policies for transformation, caching, security, and routing
  • Ensure security and compliance by implementing OAuth 2.0, mutual TLS, SSL/TLS, RBAC, and secure API design principles
  • Instrument and monitor services with Application Insights and Log Analytics, creating alerts and dashboards for proactive observability
  • Integrate AI capabilities such as Azure OpenAI, AI Search, and Document Intelligence into backend APIs where applicable
  • Troubleshooting and issue-solving across applications, API, infrastructure, and network layers in hybrid environments
  • Support hybrid workloads, including selected on-prem systems like IIS and Java servers
  • Align API design with SPA consumers such as Angular and React, considering CORS and integration patterns

Requirements

  • Strong CI/CD expertise in Azure DevOps with infrastructure automation using Bicep, Terraform, or ARM
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Functions, Azure API Management, AKS/Container Apps, API Gateway, Web Apps, and WAF
  • Solid understanding of OAuth 2.0, mTLS, SSL/TLS, Azure RBAC, and secure API design principles
  • Proficiency in monitoring and troubleshooting using Application Insights and Log Analytics
  • Familiarity with protocols and data formats: REST, SOAP, JSON, XML
  • Awareness of SPA consumption patterns and CORS considerations
  • Proven .NET developer background with API and cloud integration experience
  • Experience ensuring production readiness, including incident handling and post-incident reviews

  • Deep focus on API Management and governance processes
  • Expertise in Kubernetes operations and container orchestration best practices
  • Advanced monitoring and telemetry patterns in Azure
  • Knowledge of hybrid networking between on-prem and Azure
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps and Zero Trust principles
  • Experience with AI-powered automation and search solutions
