Our Washington, D.C. facility is seeking an experienced and dynamic Warehouse Supervisor to lead our warehouse operations. This leadership role is critical for managing daily activities, ensuring the efficient flow of goods, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in warehouse management, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of logistics and inventory control. You will be responsible for supervising a team of warehouse associates, optimizing workflows, and implementing best practices to enhance overall operational performance.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Supervise, train, and motivate a team of warehouse staff to achieve performance goals.
- Develop and implement efficient warehouse layouts and workflows to optimize logistics.
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and company policies, including proper PPE usage.
- Manage inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and implement strategies to minimize discrepancies.
- Coordinate with management and other departments to meet operational demands.
- Maintain equipment and ensure a safe working environment, addressing any hazards promptly.
- Manage staff schedules, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- The role requires occasional manual lifting, up to 30 lbs, but the primary focus is on supervision and operational management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Logistics or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in warehouse supervision or management.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics, and inventory control systems.
- Excellent understanding of safety protocols and the importance of PPE in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to analyze data and implement effective operational strategies.
- Proficiency in warehouse management software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a demanding environment.
- A strong commitment to safety is non-negotiable.
