This role is fundamental to our success, involving the movement, organization, and tracking of inventory. You will be responsible for handling a variety of materials, operating equipment, and maintaining an organized and safe workspace. Responsibilities:
- Move, sort, and stage materials within the warehouse using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts if certified).
- Receive and put away incoming inventory accurately.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, consolidating, and staging materials.
- Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Conduct regular inspections of materials and equipment, reporting any issues.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper handling and scanning procedures.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques.
- Wear all required PPE, such as safety vests, gloves, and safety glasses, at all times.
- Support the logistics team by assisting with various tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse/logistics role is highly preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials up to 75 lbs.
- Proficiency in operating manual and powered material handling equipment.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of supply chain and logistics operations.
- Commitment to workplace safety and consistent use of PPE.
