We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our busy logistics center in Kansas City, Missouri. This role is essential for managing the movement of materials within the warehouse, ensuring that products are safely and efficiently handled. You will operate equipment, assist with inventory, and contribute to the smooth operation of our distribution processes. A commitment to safety and operational excellence is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and proficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Move inventory within the warehouse to designated locations.
- Assist in receiving and stocking of incoming goods.
- Conduct routine checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards.
- Follow all logistics procedures and company policies, including the strict use of PPE.
- Perform tasks involving significant lifting and movement of materials.
- Participate in inventory counts and accuracy checks.
- Ensure that all material handling activities comply with safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of logistics and inventory management principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to work varied shifts and overtime as needed.
