We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Inventory Control Specialist in our Chicago, Illinois facility. This role is essential for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and traceability of our extensive inventory. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing inventory control procedures, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring optimal stock levels. Your expertise will directly impact the efficiency of our logistics and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of warehouse management systems and best practices in inventory control. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of accuracy within a dynamic warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cycle counts and periodic physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and refine inventory control policies and procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and report on stock rotation, obsolescence, and shrinkage.
- Manage the flow of goods within the warehouse to ensure accurate stock location and accessibility.
- Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate transaction processing.
- Generate comprehensive inventory reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including proper handling of materials, adherence to safe lifting practices, and correct use of PPE.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency with WMS (Warehouse Management System) software and ERP systems.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety protocols, including PPE requirements.
