Are you an experienced Forklift Operator looking for a new opportunity in San Diego, California? We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious individual to join our warehouse operations. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is critical to the efficiency of our logistics processes, ensuring materials are moved safely and effectively. A strong emphasis is placed on operational safety and the correct utilization of PPE .
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers efficiently and accurately.
- Store and retrieve inventory from high rack locations.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all housekeeping standards.
- Follow all established safety procedures and protocols, including the use of PPE .
- Work collaboratively with warehouse associates and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Identify and report any hazards or unsafe conditions in the warehouse.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned, which may include some manual lifting .
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a forklift operator.
- Excellent knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and awareness of surroundings.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
- Commitment to wearing all required PPE at all times while operating equipment.
