We are seeking a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our St. Louis, Missouri facility. This role is essential for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and meet all shipping requirements. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring packages are properly labeled and staged for pickup. Attention to detail and adherence to safety guidelines are critical in this fast-paced logistics environment. We require all employees to use the designated PPE .
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Verify outgoing shipments against customer orders for accuracy.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for shipment pickups and deliveries.
- Package items securely for shipment, ensuring they are protected during transit.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Communicate effectively with other departments, such as receiving and inventory, to ensure smooth workflow.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE .
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed, utilizing appropriate equipment.
- Perform quality checks on outgoing shipments before they leave the facility.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping, receiving, or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and shipping software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, walk, and perform occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Understanding of shipping regulations and logistics processes.
- Commitment to following all safety protocols and wearing required PPE .
