About the Role We are seeking a Senior Associate or Manager, Valuations to join our growing Valuations practice. This role offers flexibility in level and scope, and we are open to hiring either a high-performing Senior Associate ready to take the next step, or an experienced Manager who can immediately lead engagements.   This position plays a critical role in both client-facing consulting engagements and audit support across the firm. The successful candidate will support or lead valuation engagements, act as a technical resource to audit teams, and contribute to the continued growth of our valuation capabilities.
What You'll Do Depending on level, responsibilities may include:
• Support and, at the Manager level, lead valuation engagements for tax planning, corporate reorganizations, financial reporting, and shareholder transactions 
• Prepare and, at the Manager level, review valuation models, reports, and memos in accordance with professional standards and firm best practices 
• Act as an internal valuation resource on audit engagements, including preparation and/or review of valuation-related audit documentation 
• Collaborate with engagement managers and partners to deliver high-quality, timely client service 
• Build an understanding of clients' businesses, industries, and strategic objectives 
• Provide support to audit teams on valuation-related accounting matters, including fair value measurements, impairment testing, and purchase price allocations 
• At the Manager level, serve as a key client contact for valuation matters 
• Participate in internal technical training and development initiatives 
• Mentor junior team members (and at the Manager level, actively coach and develop staff) 
• Contribute to business development initiatives, including proposal support and identifying client needs 
• Exposure to or interest in complex instrument valuations is considered an asset    What You Bring
• CBV designation or active pursuit of the CBV designation required (CPA, CFA, or other relevant financial designation considered an asset) 
• Approximately 3–7+ years of relevant experience in public accounting, valuations, audit, or financial reporting 
• Strong understanding of IFRS and valuation concepts; familiarity with Canadian Auditing Standards (CASs) is an asset 
• Experience with publicly listed entities is an asset 
• Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities, with experience building and reviewing valuation models
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to high-quality client service    Compensation The salary range for this role will depend on the level at which the successful candidate is hired:
• Senior Associate: $75,000 – $100,000 
• Manager: $115,000 – $145,000    Placement within the range will depend on depth of experience, demonstrated skills, and alignment with the scope of the role.   Why Join McGovern Hurley
