The City of San Jos is recruiting for a Senior Systems Applications Programmer (SSAP) with a focus on financial applications in the Information Technology Department. As a technical support, this position will be responsible for citywide customer supporting, enhancing, upgrading and daily maintaining on multiple finance applications such as Finance Management System, Revenue Collection System, and Finance Reporting System. The Information Technology Department is seeking a qualified candidate to fill its SSAP position to provide application development, maintenance, and support for the Citys Enterprise Finance Management and Reporting System and Revenue Collection System. This position requires strong technical hands-on experience and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to take initiative and work with customers and vendors. We are seeking an individual with a willingness to adapt to an ever-changing environment with a focus on customer service excellence. Responsibilities
Provides technical support for the Citys Finance Management System, Revenue Collection System and City Reporting System. Develops, supports, modifies, and tests customized programs, interfaces and reports related to Citys Finance Management System and Revenue Collection System requirements. Performs hands-on system configuration and advanced troubleshooting for supported City Finance Systems, reducing accounting errors, maintaining audit trails and ensure compliance with applicable account standards. Works on finance applications upgrade and enhancement projects related to Finance Management System, Revenue Collection System and City reporting system, and custom programs, interfaces and reports. Learns existing City business practices and their related customizations. Develops technical guidelines and governance framework to ensure best practices are followed. Provides technical supports on servers, application configuration and integration for departmental and enterprise system management. Qualifications
Experience supporting an enterprise-level Finance Management System (FMS) and Revenue Collection System providing General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Cash Collection, and Revenue services and possess both solid functional and in-depth technical knowledge of key system processes: month-end cycle, procure to pay process, and cash and revenue collection. This position demands a proven ability to resolve complex technical issues, to work with customers and vendors, and create comprehensive finance reports in a timely manner.
