*Job Overview*
We are seeking a proactive and highly skilled IT Administrator to join our dynamic technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless system operations, and supporting the organization’s digital transformation initiatives. Your expertise in system architecture, network security, and cloud solutions will be vital in creating a robust, secure, and scalable IT environment. *Responsibilities*
* Oversee the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of servers, including virtualization platforms such as VMware and ESXi, ensuring optimal performance and security.
* Manage network infrastructure components including firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, load balancers, and switches to maintain reliable connectivity across all systems.
* Design and implement scalable system architectures utilizing cloud services like AWS and Azure, integrating microservices and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
* Administer databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server; perform backups, tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure data integrity.
* Develop automation scripts using Bash, Shell Scripting, Python, or PowerShell to streamline system administration tasks within a DevOps framework.
* Implement security protocols aligned with information security best practices; configure firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems to safeguard organizational data.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams on solution architecture projects involving RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
* Support software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities by integrating CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Git for continuous integration and deployment.
* Monitor system health using tools such as Nagios or Zabbix; perform load balancing to optimize performance during peak usage periods.
* Provide technical support for operating systems including Windows and Linux; troubleshoot hardware/software issues promptly.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and incident reports for audit compliance.
*Experience*
* Proven experience in system administration within complex IT environments involving virtualization (VMware/ESXi), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
* Strong understanding of computer networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP protocols, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing techniques, and network security measures.
* Hands-on experience with database management systems including SQL Server T-SQL scripting; familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus.
* Knowledge of scripting languages like Bash or Shell Scripting for automation purposes; experience with Python is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with solution architecture principles including RESTful API design and microservices deployment strategies.
* Experience working within Agile development methodologies; familiarity with SDLC processes is essential.
* Demonstrated ability to implement information security best practices across diverse systems and networks.
* Certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP or CompTIA Security+ are advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: £15.00-£30.00 per hour
