Lead Data Scientist
at Maximus, where you'll be a critical part of the AI Accelerator, driving cutting-edge AI solutions for both our enterprise and clients. In this role, you'll play a vital part in architecting and optimizing scalable, secure AI systems while ensuring their integration into production environments using MLOps best practices. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced technology landscape, where your strong systems thinking and problem-solving skills will shine. As a Lead Data Scientist, your responsibilities will include: Diving deep into data to extract actionable insights for business leaders. Leading advanced analyses of operational data and advocating for data-driven decision-making. Mentoring junior data scientists and guiding collaborative efforts across the organization. Creating visually compelling presentations from complex data findings. Developing innovative AI/ML models and code while promoting automation and efficiency. Engaging with operational teams to enhance product performance and identify solution improvements. Staying ahead of advancements in AI technology to leverage new opportunities for our clients. Taking the lead on AI/ML projects that drive real mission outcomes. This position will involve some travel to the DC area for client meetings.
U.S. citizenship is required due to government contract obligations. Minimum Requirements A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. 10-12 years of relevant professional experience. 10+ years of experience in Software Development, AI / ML, or Data Science is essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with API programming. Familiarity with two or more of the following: Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning, or Classical ML. Preferred Skills and Qualifications A Master's degree or equivalent in a quantitative discipline. Experience designing machine learning algorithms and using statistical analysis to interpret data. A track record of individual contribution in AI projects. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to create custom solutions.
