About the Job: The Data Scientist at Zone and Co is responsible for leveraging advanced analytical techniques and machine learning models to extract meaningful insights from AI and product related datasets. This role provides the core analytical expertise for Zone & Co's AI strategy, specifically focusing on building and scaling agent capabilities within core financial workflows (P2P, Q2C, R2R, Treasury). Key focus areas include AI evaluations, developing the models for the ZB Agent family, forecasting and devising Active Learning systems that enhance data extraction accuracy. The Data Scientist will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business teams to identify opportunities, develop predictive models, and communicate findings effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement production-ready machine learning models and algorithms for core AI product features (e.g., Anomaly Detection, Forecasting, and Active Learning systems). Provide the core analytical expertise for the ZB Agent family by developing model logic that enables agent actions, decision-making, and scaling capabilities across financial workflows (P2P, Q2C, R2R, Treasury). Develop and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines and data processing systems necessary for model training, inference, and the continuous improvement of Active Learning. Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to deploy models into production, perform AI evaluations, monitor performance, and communicate complex quantitative analysis and findings in a clear, actionable manner to stakeholders. Adhere to data governance and ethical AI principles, as well as all company policies and procedure. Model Development & Deployment: Design, build, and deploy production-ready predictive and prescriptive machine learning models (e.g., Anomaly Detection, Forecasting) that drive the ZB Agent family and core product features. Data Preparation & MLOps: Clean, transform, and preprocess raw data from NetSuite and other sources to ensure model readiness. Develop and implement MLOps strategies for robust model lifecycle management and continuous validation. Active Learning & Optimization: Conduct A/B testing and leverage Active Learning principles to continuously monitor and optimize model performance, data pipelines, and efficiency for large-scale financial data processing. Strategic Partnership & Scoping: Partner with Product Managers and business stakeholders to define clear success metrics, translate business requirements into technical specifications, and effectively scope and manage project timelines. Reporting & Communication: Build and maintain reports to track key performance indicators. Clearly and thoroughly document all analytical processes. Present findings and actionable recommendations to technical and executive audiences. Code Quality & Governance: Participate in code reviews and contribute to the team's shared codebase. Ensure ethical and compliant use of data and models, adhering to data privacy standards and supporting data governance initiatives. Technical Leadership: Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and methods for the data science stack, and provide technical guidance on data science best practices. Qualifications
Must have 3+ years of experience in a Data Scientist or similar quantitative role. Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering) required, Master’s or PhD preferred. Expert proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis. Demonstrated experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch). Solid understanding of statistical modeling and experimental design. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP); AWS preferred. Ability to analyze and synthesize complex data into meaningful executive summary reports. Ability to innovate, execute and deliver results. Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Products. Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Ability to communicate professionally, both written and verbal. Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills. Benefits
