BRIEF POSTING DESCRIPTION:
The M DS STORES Department of the H SUPPORT SERVICES Division at Hawaiian Electric Company has 1 Bargaining Unit vacancy available. (Role: Non-Exempt)
JOB FUNCTION:
Under direction, assists in the function of handling all materials and equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
As a Warehouse Attendant at the maximum level, performs the following duties. As a Warehouse Attendant at lower level, performs the following duties under direction or direct supervision as necessary.
- As directed: Receives stocks, fills requisitions, loads & unloads material and equipment, and handles credits, salvage, and scrap.
- Inspects incoming materials and supplies form vendors and makes necessary reports on items received.
- Operates material-handling equipment.
- Operates Company vehicles including flatbed truck, pickup truck, van, and car.
- Keeps warehouse and storage areas neat, clean, and orderly.
- Maintains files of outstanding orders, recording receipts and back orders.
- Delivers and picks up materials and messages.
- Assists in taking daily and annual physical inventory.
- Assumes duties of Material Coordinator when absent.
- Authorized user of Company Pro-Card; maintains receipts and reports as required.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Moves and connects trailed equipment.
- Gasses and oils cars, trucks, and other automotive equipment, refilling as necessary; keeps necessary records.
- Performs similar and incidental duties as required.
- Assume an emergency management role, as assigned, and perform specific assignments or functions, as needed, in an event of an emergency, not to include routine trouble calls/callouts.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must pass the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Support & Administrative Selection System (SASS) test.
- Note: Employees who have taken and passed the Mechanical, Numerical and Verbal Sections of the Differential Aptitude Tests do not need to take the SASS.
- Must pass Job Sample Test.
- Ability to perceive colors necessary for the safe performance of duties. (i.e., primary colors sightedness, basic colors for driving).
- Must be able to lift items such as grounding shunt weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Must have or be able to obtain forklift certification.
- Must have or be able to qualify for a State of Hawaii driver's license. Must meet the standards for driving positions stated in the Hiring Standards for Driving Positions policy. These standards may be adjusted periodically to meet business and safety objectives.
