The Shift Manager will play an important role in supervising the daily activities of the Security Department on the assigned shift working closely with Security Director.

QualificationsTHE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties) Including but not limited to:
- Supervise, train, and evaluate security staff to ensure employees receive necessary guidance to accomplish established objectives in accordance with departmental standards
- Ensure proper arrest procedures and detainment techniques are clearly understood and carried out in accordance with civil / criminal laws and company policy and procedures; assists various local, state, and federal authorities in various activities and investigations to ensure that procedures and laws are observed
- Maintain all current information on cheats, thieves, vagrants, etc. to ensure the protection of company assets, patrons, and employees; develops and maintains open communications with law enforcement agencies and security personnel of other casinos to relay security information
- Resolve customer complaints and ensure that all areas of proper customer service are adhered to
- Provide support to departmental management in the event of troublesome terminations, thefts, investigations, and procedures as requested
- Handle all drug testing procedures for reasonable suspicion, assuring that the hotel and casino maintains its procedures and liability issues
- Ensure that all proper procedures for the Games Department are correctly implemented and maintained, i.e., fills, credits, transfers, pit boxes, drops, etc.

- Possess or be able to obtain a TAM card
- Possess or be able to obtain a Nevada Gaming license
- Read and write legible reports
- Identify and quickly respond to potential problems and conflicts and defend self and others in combative situations
- Make quick decisions using good judgement
- Understand and become proficient with a variety of computer programs and office equipment
- Must be able to conduct employee performance evaluations in an impartial and fair manner
- Must be able to conduct employee progressive discipline
- Identify potential problems and resolve conflicts in a timely manner
- Assist sick or injured customers and employees
- Valid Nevada driver's license required with clean driving record
- Always communicate successfully with the senior executive staff, customers and all levels of employees
- Must be able to communicate successfully with fire and health inspectors, law enforcement personnel, medical personnel, and other outside agencies
- Basic knowledge of Nevada civil and criminal laws
- Knowledge and understanding of electronic, video and alarm functions
- Knowledge and understanding of Nevada laws concerning powers of arrest
- Two years progressive experience in Security operations or equivalent
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Have knowledge of programs to address problem gambling
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Spend the majority of the shift in the casino, subject to varying levels of crowds, sound, vibration, and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume. You may come into contact with pet hair/dander
- Must be able to work with the varying heights, levels of lighting, and crowds
- Must be comfortable to work in loud environment with varying sound levels
- Must possess reading, writing and mathematical skills to write legible reports and effectively communicate in English with guests and Team Members
- Maintain physical stamina and proper attitude to work under pressure and deal effectively with guests, management, and employees
- Must be able to work in inclement weather to include heat, rain, wind etc. Proper protection is provided
- Must be able to stand for entire shift
- Lift, push, and pull drop boxes weighing 50 lbs. and money carts over 100 lbs.
