Senior Counsel - Enterprise

Position Overview
Enterprise Counsel
with 5–10 years of relevant legal experience . This role provides legal support to enterprise-level functions such as procurement, transportation, quality assurance, finance, risk management, and accounting. It is ideal for a process oriented attorney who enjoys supporting cross-functional teams and delivering practical guidance that advances operational execution.

In addition to core enterprise responsibilities, this role will also support the company's
government affairs and external engagement strategy
, including monitoring legislative and regulatory developments, helping shape advocacy positions, and coordinating with industry trade associations. The Enterprise Counsel will assist in strengthening relationships with state, local, and federal officials and will help develop engagement strategies that support the company's policy interests.

The Enterprise Counsel also plays a key role in managing enterprise-level litigation, working with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to address disputes and claims that impact corporate functions.

Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Legal Support
Provide legal advice and counsel to enterprise support teams, including procurement, transportation, quality assurance, risk management, finance, and accounting.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, such as vendor contracts, service agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Support enterprise-wide initiatives involving strategic sourcing, vendor management, process improvements, and enterprise system transitions.
  • Advise on legal aspects of internal corporate initiatives, including cost-savings programs, outsourcing arrangements, and shared services projects.
  • Partner with subject matter experts and business unit attorneys to ensure coordinated and aligned legal support across the company.
  • Assist with legal aspects of M&A or strategic transactions involving enterprise functions.
  • Develop and deliver training, playbooks, and tools to internal clients to support consistent practices and risk awareness.

Government Affairs & External Engagement

  • Monitor state, federal, and local legislative, regulatory, and policy developments that may impact the company's operations, supply chain, workforce, or strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop company positions on key policy issues and prepare concise policy summaries and advocacy documents.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with elected officials, agency personnel, and other government stakeholders.
  • Represent the company in industry trade associations, working groups, and coalitions; help shape industry advocacy positions in a manner aligned with company interests.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (legal, compliance, sustainability, HR, operations) to ensure enterprise alignment on policy positions and messages.
  • Support development and execution of an enterprise government engagement strategy, including stakeholder mapping, relationship development, and participation in legislative meetings, briefings, or hearings.
  • Advise internal leaders on political and legislative risks, opportunities, and trends and prepare briefing materials for CEO/ELT-level engagement.

Enterprise Litigation Support

  • Assist with managing enterprise-level litigation and claims, including coordinating with internal stakeholders, insurers, and outside counsel.
  • Support internal investigations or compliance assessments related to enterprise functions.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; licensed to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 5–10 years of relevant legal experience, including law firm, public sector, or in-house roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse, fast-paced workload with strong judgment and a high level of responsiveness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical business advice.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the business.

Preferred Attributes

  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory issues related to logistics, transportation, product supply, or vendor negotiations.
  • Experience supporting internal finance, risk, operations, or compliance teams.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, or B2B environments.
  • Prior experience in government affairs, public policy analysis, or representing organizations before government entities or trade associations.
  • Experience coordinating or managing enterprise-level litigation.
