About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to oversee regulatory compliance, incident management, and quality assurance functions within our New York–based Licensed Home Care Services Agency (LHCSA). This role ensures adherence to regulatory body guidelines, including NYS Department of Health (DOH) regulations, Office of Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG), and insurance contractual obligations.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands home care regulations, documentation standards, and the importance of consistency, accuracy, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
Incident Management & Reporting
- Oversee identification, documentation, and timely reporting of incidents, accidents, and complaints in accordance with NYS DOH and agency policy.
- Ensure appropriate escalation, internal review, and follow-up on all incidents.
- Maintain accurate incident logs, investigation summaries, and corrective action plans.
- Track trends and patterns to identify risk areas and recommend preventive measures.
- Conflict report management and resolution
- Regulatory Compliance (DOH / LHCSA)
- Monitor ongoing compliance with NYS DOH, LHCSA, and Medicaid regulations.
- Support agency readiness for DOH surveys, audits, and inspections.
- Maintain and update compliance policies, procedures, and forms.
- Serve as a compliance resource to leadership and operational teams.
- Coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries and corrective action plans.
Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement
- Lead and support Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities.
- Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance and incident reports.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to regulatory and agency standards.
- Partner with leadership to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Training, Systems & Documentation
- Provide compliance and incident reporting training to administrative and field staff.
- Support accurate use of EVV systems to meet regulatory and billing requirements.
- Conduct periodic documentation audits and chart reviews.
- Ensure data integrity across compliance, clinical, and operational systems.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of compliance, quality assurance, or regulatory experience in a home care or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of NYS DOH LHCSA regulations and Medicaid requirements.
- Experience supporting audits, surveys, and corrective action plans.
- Proficiency with EHR and EVV systems.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate expectations clearly and hold teams accountable
- Bilingual Spanish
