NEED Financial Services is the Entertainment/Media Industry's premiere outsourced production accounting service. NEED Financial Services allows entertainment and media production companies to focus strictly on their creative and production endeavors. Our team of professionals handles the necessary tasks of accounts payable and receivable, job costing, and internal financial statement preparation.

Position Summary

The Sr. Accounting Associate is responsible for the maintenance, oversight, and reporting of financial accounting data. They will independently perform a range of routine accounting duties including preparation of various accounting and financial reports, maintenance of G/L, as well as review, code, and verify transaction and journal entries. The Sr. Accounting Associate will also oversee certain members of the client support team. This position reports to the VP of Post Production or Pod Leader.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare and monitor client financial reporting including client cash flows.
  • Timely preparation of clients' quarterly financials, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Study trends to make projections as needed.
  • Engage with clients to provide them with accurate and timely responses to all accounting/financial requests.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of editor, artist and sales representative schedules.
  • Review staff/freelance payroll via third party payroll service providers.
  • Process workers comp audits.
  • Assist in insurance renewals and audits.
  • Organize training and development for client support staff.
  • Troubleshoot and help mitigate AP/AR issues as they arise.
  • Any special projects and ad hoc reports as requested by management in order for NEED to provide white glove service to clients.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

  • 3+ years progressive accounting experience in public accounting or similar environment
  • Thorough knowledge of general accounting principles.
  • Strong leadership and experience managing teams.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Demonstrate mentoring, coaching, and organizational administrative skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work and interact with team and client organizations.
  • Strong computer aptitude, including expertise with Microsoft Office as well as applicable accounting software.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70, $85,000.00 per year
