Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant Assistant Manager to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring smooth daily operations, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant management experience, and a passion for the food industry. Experience in quick service, casual dining, or fine dining environments is preferred, along with proficiency in food handling, POS systems, and staff training.
Duties
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, including managing staff schedules and shift management to ensure efficient service.
- Supervise and train team members on food preparation, food safety protocols, and customer service standards.
- Manage inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining proper stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using Aloha POS or Micros POS systems and ensure proper cash handling procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
- Assist in food production and kitchen management to uphold quality standards for all menu items.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and address any issues promptly to maintain a positive dining experience.
- Support catering, banquet events, or bar services as needed to enhance overall guest experience.
- Participate in hiring processes including interviewing candidates and onboarding new staff members.
- Contribute to budgeting efforts and cost control initiatives to optimize restaurant profitability.
Experience
- Proven management experience within the food service industry, including supervising teams in fast-paced environments such as quick service or casual dining restaurants.
- Strong background in food preparation, kitchen management, and food safety practices.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable.
- Experience with inventory control, budgeting, and food production is preferred.
- Previous roles involving staff training & development, leadership, and customer service excellence are essential.
- Background in hospitality management or hotel experience can be advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to handle cash transactions accurately and manage shift operations efficiently.
- Experience working in diverse settings such as fine dining, catering, or banquet services will be considered a plus.
