Nurse Extern opportunity St. Luke's South Shore for
May 2026 grads.
Start as a nurse extern and have the opportunity to transition to a nursing position post graduation. Start your nursing career as a Newly Licensed RN with the same team you had the opportunity to work during your externship. This will make your transition an easier one with less ambiguities.

8 - hours a week required.

Where You Will Work

• Experience a true Orthopedic Med/Surg environment on 3MESG, South Shore's primary surgical unit, where you'll care for patients recovering from procedures like total knee replacements, bowel resections, and amputations.
• Broaden your clinical exposure with a diverse mix of medical cases—from pneumonia and DKA to alcohol withdrawal—and stable pediatric patients aged 16+, all within a fast-paced 33-bed unit averaging 28 patients daily.

We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved program in Nursing.
• successful completion of Med/Surg 1 and pharmacology
• Unofficial transcript required at time of offer.

What You'll Do

• Support patient care under RN supervision by assisting with daily activities, vital signs, and medication administration while gaining hands-on clinical experience.
• Build foundational nursing skills through collaboration, observation, and participation in care planning, emergency response, and team communication.

• 8 hours a week required until graduation
