About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Game Data Analyst to join PlayStation Studios Mobile (PSSM) on a contract basis. The role is remote, based in the United States, with PST working hours. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting our expanding portfolio of mobile games by providing data-driven insights that influence game design, monetization strategies, and player engagement initiatives.
As a key member of the central analytics team, you will own critical data projects, uncover actionable insights, and collaborate closely with internal studios and external partners to optimize live games and contribute to the development of new titles. Your expertise in free-to-play analytics, virtual economy analysis, and predictive modeling will directly impact the commercial success of our mobile gaming offerings.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Game Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or similar role within the free-to-play mobile gaming industry.
- Proven track record of optimizing successful mobile games through data analysis.
- Expertise in analytics implementation, player progression, virtual economy, and pricing optimization.
- Experience designing and analyzing A/B tests and user acquisition campaigns.
- Proficiency in evaluating, implementing, and optimizing data pipelines and tooling.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Strong skills in SQL or similar data extraction tools, data visualization, and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data insights into clear recommendations for stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and methodologies in game analytics and business intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal studios and external partners during game development to ensure comprehensive and optimized analytics schemas are implemented on schedule.
- Identify and analyze hidden insights within large datasets to enhance the player experience and game performance globally.
- Lead end-to-end data projects, including defining key questions, extracting and validating data, organizing complex datasets, and visualizing insights for actionable decision-making.
- Prioritize and manage a research roadmap by working closely with product managers and designers to provide timely insights for game development and optimization.
- Automate repetitive analytics tasks such as KPI reporting and market data analysis to improve efficiency and free up resources for strategic research.
- Partner with cross-functional data teams to support various workstreams and promote best practices in data analysis across PlayStation.
- Stay at the forefront of game analytics and business intelligence by exploring and advocating for the latest tools, techniques, and industry trends.
