Pay: $20-23/hr

A client of ours, a well-established manufacturer in the rigid plastic packaging industry, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Tool Room Technician to support production and tooling operations. This role focuses on tool preparation, maintenance support, organization, and documentation to ensure molds and tooling are production-ready and downtime is minimized.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build technical skills, work hands-on in a manufacturing environment, and grow within a stable organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Tool Makers with the setup, teardown, cleaning, and staging of molds and tooling.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs on tooling under the direction of senior Tool Makers.
  • Clean, inspect, and prepare molds for production runs and storage.
  • Track, label, and document tooling movement, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the tool room and storage areas.
  • Assist with tool changeovers and production support as needed.
  • Operate basic shop equipment (drill press, grinders, saws) and hand tools.
  • Ensure tools, fixtures, and gauges are properly stored and readily available.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
  • Communicate tooling issues or concerns to Tool Makers and supervisors promptly.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical, mechanical, or vocational training preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a tool room, maintenance, or manufacturing support role preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn mold and tooling systems.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints and use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
