Nursing Assistant Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. The Nursing Assistant will assist with daily living activities, monitor patient health, and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all patients. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals.

Duties

  • Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
  • Monitor vital signs and report any changes in patient conditions to nursing staff.
  • Provide basic care for patients with special needs, including those with Alzheimer's, dementia, or developmental disabilities.
  • Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and wheelchairs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in patient rooms and common areas.
  • Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Support nursing staff in administering medications and treatments as directed.
  • Engage with patients to promote emotional well-being and provide companionship.
  • Follow infection control protocols and maintain aseptic techniques during procedures.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills in areas such as phlebotomy, critical care, or geriatrics.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Nursing Assistant training program preferred.
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or PCA
  • Experience in long-term care, assisted living, hospital settings, or home care.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as WellSky.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Ability to perform CPR and First Aid, and understand vital signs monitoring.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Compassionate attitude toward providing care for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
  • TB Test or Chest X-Ray (within the last 12 months)
  • Ability to pass a thorough Criminal and Background Record Check
  • Reliable transportation to a client's home and/or a valid driver's license and auto insurance if required by the Client.
  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living

Job Types: Part-time, Per diem

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour
