We are part of the Sonepar group, the worlds #1 electrical distributor with over 45,000 associates around the globe./ppstrongWhat You Will Do:/strong/pulliStrives to meet customer expectations with each interaction./liliReceives customer product orders by phone and email./liliSolicits sale of new or additional products by phone and email./liliPractices good interpersonal relations, using tact, courtesy, a positive attitude toward customers and co-workers, pleasant telephone etiquette, and a general attitude as a representative of goodwill on behalf of the company./liliLiaison between the customer and OneSource departments, including credit purchasing, warehouse, outside sales, and management./liliDetermines make, type, and quality of merchandise desired by being familiar with products sold in the department by use, vendor, location in warehouse, catalog and catalog number, other reference materials, and special selling points./liliIdentifies and uses appropriate company and/or customer pricing systems./liliDescribes or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features./liliCompiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads./liliProvides oral and written quotations or estimates of prices, terms, and delivery for standard, complex or non-standard merchandise./liliPrepares cash or charge sales tickets with required identification, necessary information for the customer, merchandise, price, and sales tax status for processing, shipment, and delivery of merchandise in a timely manner. Follows up with any specific record-keeping requirements./liliEstimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firms delivery schedules./liliPurchases materials following approved purchasing procedures./liliReviews complaints concerning billing or products sold, referring complaints to designated departments for investigation and resolution./liliPrepares correspondence and reports necessary for business transactions./liliRecognizes when special pricing is required and provide competitive pricing./liliFollow up on all quotations to write the order or receive input for use in future quotations./liliAcquires, uses, and continuously develops personal technical knowledge of general and specialty merchandise items to assist customers and other company personnel./liliOther responsibilities may be assigned./li/ulpstrongWhat You Will Bring:/strong/pulliAssociates degree (A. A.) and two to four years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience./liliElectrical, Contractor and/or distribution experience preferred, but not required./liliHigh school or equivalent diploma./liliAbility to run and maintain projects./liliAbility to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures./liliAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from small groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public./liliAbility to perform math functions representative of the job such as; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and metric scales; computing rate, ratio, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs; calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and proportions./li/ulpstrongPhysical Requirements and Work Environment:/strong/pulliRequired to sit, speak, hear, read, type, use close and distance vision (about 5-8 hours per shift)./liliThis position works in a normal office environment as well as a warehouse environment, with standard office equipment. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. while working in the office. The noise level in the warehouse environment is usually moderate and temperature can change based on the season./liliWork is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 15% of the time./li/ulpLocation: San Leandro, CA/ppWork Hours: 7:00 AM
4:00 PM/ppSalary Range: This is a non-exempt position and pays between $27.74$37.00 per hour. This salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, within California.
