Job Overview
Pay: $20,000/year salary (tips not included)
Hours: ~30 hours/week
Typical shift window: 10:00am–5:00pm
This Store Leader supports both of our St. George Menchie's locations—Dinosaur Crossing and St. George BLVD—and shares leadership with a co-leader (PM Store Leader). As the AM Store Leader, you'll lead opening/day operations, coach team members, and help keep both stores consistent to Menchie's standards.
Weekly Structure
1) Floor Leadership (FOH/BOH) — 2–3 shifts/week (10–20 hours):
- Work on the floor alongside another team member
- Focus on training/coaching new hires or team members who need extra support
2) Leadership/Admin Work — remaining hours:
- Inventory counts and product organization
- Receiving/putting away deliveries
- Scheduling support
- Training, orientation, and ongoing development
- Social media
- Other tasks assigned by the Area Manager
Coverage Expectations + Extra Pay
Team members must attempt to find their own coverage first. If they can't, you're the first point of contact. If coverage still can't be found, you're expected to help cover the shift (typically within 10am–5pm).
If you cover a shift: you earn an additional $5.00/hr + tips for that shift in addition to your salary.
Reduced Hours Rule
If you work less than 25 hours in a week, pay for that pay period will be calculated based on the hourly equivalent rate instead of the full salary.
Key Responsibilities (Both Locations)
- Lead daily operations for both stores during morning/daytime coverage
- Train, coach, and hold team members accountable to standards
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, store presentation, and food safety
- Monitor product levels, count inventory, manage deliveries/receiving
- Ensure smooth shift transitions and strong guest service
- Communicate clearly with the Closing Lead and Area Manager to keep both stores aligned
Communication & Escalation
Store Leaders are the first line of support for team members. If an issue can't be resolved, it escalates to the Area Manager.
Basic Qualifications
- Reliable availability 10:00am–5:00pm (most shifts in that window), including weekends as needed
- 18+ years old
- Able to travel between both St. George locations
- Comfortable being a keyholder (opening procedures, cash handling, securing the store)
- Customer-service confident and able to handle guest issues professionally
- Team leadership mindset: able to coach, correct, and set expectations respectfully
- Basic math + organization for drawers, deposits, inventory counts, and receiving deliveries
- Can stand/walk for long periods and lift/carry ~25–35 lbs
- Can follow food-safety and cleanliness standards consistently
- Strong communication: responds to texts/calls and keeps Area Manager updated
- Able to learn tools (POS, scheduling app, checklists) and follow written processes
Preferred (Not Required)
- 6+ months in retail/food service
- Experience training a new employee or leading a shift (even informally)
