Job Summary:
The Software Engineer is responsible for architecture, design, verification and validation of embedded avionics software for Aspen equipment. This position provides a key role in defining Aspen's next generation of avionics systems and ensuring the goals of these systems are achieved. The chosen candidate for this position will drive the vision of Functionality, Usability, Integration and Value into every aspect of the design and ensure that the resulting product is commercially competitive and differentiated.
Job Duties:
- Participate in development of System Architecture, System Requirements Software Architectures, Software Requirements, Code and Verification of the embedded software for Aspen products.
- Produce software that is high quality, robust and meets the requirement of DO-178C.
- Interface closely with engineers from all aspects of the design (Systems, Hardware, Certification, Flight Test)
- Participate in safety analysis for the avionics equipment, including Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
- Interface with marketing, sales, and field support to assess needs for new capabilities and product improvements for existing and new customers.
- Interface with external organizations to enable the Integration of Aspen products with equipment supplied by other companies.
- Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of engineering experience in the design of embedded software
- Strong technical and communication skills
- Ability to work in diverse, cross-functional teams
- Experience in avionics system design and FAA Certification processes, including ARP4754, ARP4761, DO-178C standards strongly preferred
Education:
- A BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Standing and sitting for extended periods of time
- Lifting up to 50 pounds in a safe and prudent manner
- Ability to move easily through a 45,000 sq. ft. facility
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Correctable vision and hearing
- Ability to work on-site full-time to perform job functions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100, $130,000.00 per year
