Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and handling, with a focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and presentation. Your expertise will contribute to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Duties

• Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity.
• Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled according to health regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and efficient workflow.
• Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs to management.
• Stay updated on culinary trends, techniques, and presentation styles in sushi preparation.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines in food handling and preparation.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment.
• Strong skills in food preparation, knife techniques, and culinary arts specific to sushi making.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food service.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to help train and mentor junior kitchen staff as needed.
