We are seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our thriving logistics team in Houston, Texas. This role is fundamental to the smooth operation of our warehouse, involving the efficient movement and organization of goods. You will be responsible for receiving, stocking, and preparing materials for shipment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all tasks. A strong commitment to safety and a proactive approach to material handling are essential for success. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming materials and products.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Accurately stock inventory in designated locations within the warehouse.
- Pick and pack orders for shipment according to specifications.
- Load outbound trucks efficiently and safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Perform regular checks on material handling equipment to ensure proper function.
- Assist in cycle counts and inventory verification processes.
- This position requires regular manual lifting, often exceeding 50 lbs, and standing for extended periods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to operate various material handling equipment, including forklifts.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and the importance of PPE.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to handle frequent lifting.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with basic logistics and inventory management principles.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient workplace is crucial.
