We are looking for a dedicated Material Handler to join our logistics team in Omaha, Nebraska. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement, organization, and storage of materials within our warehouse. Your efforts will directly contribute to the smooth flow of our supply chain and the timely processing of orders. The ideal candidate will be physically capable, possess a strong work ethic, and have a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials and shipments.
- Transport materials to designated storage areas using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks).
- Organize and maintain inventory in an orderly fashion, ensuring proper stock rotation.
- Pick and stage materials for outgoing shipments according to order requirements.
- Operate manual and powered material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct regular checks of materials and equipment, reporting any issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning items and updating the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, safe, and free from obstructions.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including safe lifting practices.
- Wear all required PPE, such as safety vests, gloves, and safety glasses, at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics setting is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 60 lbs.
- Proficiency with various material handling equipment (pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc.).
- Forklift certification is a significant advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with WMS is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
- Commitment to upholding safety standards and wearing appropriate PPE.
