We are looking for a diligent and organized Receiving Clerk to join our logistics operations in Washington, D.C. As a Receiving Clerk, you will play a critical role in the initial stages of our supply chain, ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately documented, inspected, and stored. This position requires a keen eye for detail, efficient processing, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and orderly receiving area. You will be responsible for verifying quantities, checking for damages, and inputting receiving data into our inventory system. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Accurately record received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label inventory as required for proper storage.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving dock area.
- Communicate any discrepancies or issues to supervisors and relevant departments.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory, or a related warehouse role is preferred.
- Familiarity with WMS or inventory software is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the use of appropriate PPE.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
