Our Durham, North Carolina facility is seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk to manage the intake of goods into our warehouse. This role is essential for maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring that all incoming products meet quality standards before entering our logistics pipeline. The Receiving Clerk will be the first line of defense against inventory discrepancies and damaged goods, requiring a sharp eye and a systematic approach. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Inspect all deliveries for damage, quantity discrepancies, and conformance to specifications.
- Document all received items accurately in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments regarding receiving issues or discrepancies.
- Label and stage incoming inventory for put-away or further processing.
- Ensure the receiving area is kept clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Follow all established safety protocols and utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in periodic inventory audits and cycle counts.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed to maintain operational flow.
- Contribute to the efficient management of inbound logistics.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a warehouse receiving or similar capacity is preferred. Proficiency with computers and data entry. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Good communication and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with WMS software is a plus. Understanding of basic logistics and supply chain principles is beneficial. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Commitment to a safe working environment and the proper use of PPE is mandatory.
