Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role is pivotal to ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and meet all regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that packages are correctly labeled and staged for pickup. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a vital aspect of our logistics operations. We are looking for individuals with strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will work in a dynamic environment and be a key point of contact for shipping activities. A commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all guidelines, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is essential. While not as physically demanding as other roles, some lifting and moving of packages may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and packing slips.
  • Verify the accuracy of orders against shipping manifests.
  • Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Label packages accurately according to destination and carrier requirements.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments for proper packaging and condition.
  • Enter shipping data into the company's inventory and shipping management systems.
  • Communicate with internal departments and external partners regarding shipment status.
  • Maintain organized shipping records and filing systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant shipping regulations.
  • Assist with receiving tasks as needed and adhere to safety protocols, including the use of PPE.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; some college or vocational training preferred. Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is highly desirable. Proficient in data entry and familiar with shipping software/systems. Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding of shipping regulations and documentation. Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE.
