This role supports engineering and construction teams by producing detailed electrical designs that can be built efficiently in the field. The work involves applying technical knowledge to real project conditions, collaborating with internal groups, and delivering drawings, studies, and documentation that meet safety, code, and engineering standards. Engineers in this position work closely with leadership, clients, and field personnel, and the structure supports growth from early-career through senior technical responsibility.
What You'll Work On
• Develop design packages from initial concept through issued-for-construction release
• Participate in design review meetings and assist with problem-solving during execution
• Coordinate with peers in civil, mechanical, and controls to resolve scope interfaces
• Perform or assist with field walks to gather data and validate existing conditions
• Support project schedules, track tasks, and distribute work when appropriate
• Communicate with clients, vendors, utilities, and internal teams
• Provide peer guidance and help junior engineers build technical skillsets
• Maintain compliance with electrical codes and safety requirements
• Generate drawings, calculations, and models using modern design tools
Minimum Background
• BS in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
• 2 to 8 years of engineering experience (design or field acceptable)
• PE desirable with progression expected at senior level
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and NEC fundamentals
Mid-Level / Project Engineer
• 4 to 8 years experience
• Able to lead portions of a design effort, assist others, and support troubleshooting
• Experience with commissioning, testing support, or project closeout is valuable
Senior Engineer
• ~7+ years experience with increasing ownership of design and coordination
• PE license or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
• Experience guiding teams, interfacing with clients, and improving process standards
• Involvement in training initiatives or technical leadership is advantageous
Helpful Skills
• Revit, AutoCAD, BIM, Navisworks, ETAP, Bluebeam, SKM, or similar platforms
• Field experience in installation, commissioning, or troubleshooting
• Ability to support cost estimates and scope development
• Participation in internal improvement or QA initiatives
• Interest in mentoring, career development, or professional groups
