Position Overview
Dermatology Specialists, Inc., a large multi-site dermatology practice, is seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Practice Administrator to oversee the day-to-day operations and provide leadership to our management and clinical teams. This position reports directly to the owner physicians and works in conjunction with the Finance Manager. This key leadership role ensures the practice's smooth, efficient functioning, maintains a high standard of patient care, and drives operational excellence across all locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support regional office managers.
- Manage daily operational activities to ensure efficiency, compliance, and quality of service.
- Lead recruitment efforts for physicians and professional staff, including MDs, PAs, nurses, and lab technicians.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations and 90-day reviews for leadership staff.
- Develop, implement, and standardize office policies and procedures across all locations.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and compliance standards (HIPAA, CLIA, COBRA, FMLA).
- Supervise training and development programs to ensure optimal staff performance.
- Collaborate with management and staff to promote quality patient care and service excellence.
- Oversee physician schedules and clinical workflow coordination.
- Manage payroll operations and collaborate with accounting on financial reporting.
- Foster a positive, high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and service.
- Review and interpret contracts, including leases, insurance, and equipment agreements.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in a medical office or healthcare setting.
- Must have experience with effectively managing multi-site operations.
- Strong understanding of human resources principles and practices, including benefit administration.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and hold teams accountable.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with policy and procedure development.
- Strong financial and accounting knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.); EMA EMR experience preferred.
- Experience in physician relations, communication, recruiting, and direct support.
- Understanding of contract terms and conditions
