Duties

• Deliver tailored tutoring sessions in various math subjects including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, differential equations, discrete math, and higher-level topics such as organic chemistry or biomechanics when relevant.
• Develop customized lesson plans that align with individual student needs and curriculum standards, incorporating curriculum development best practices.
• Utilize learning technology tools and digital resources to enhance understanding and engagement during lessons.
• Assess student progress regularly through quizzes, assignments, and informal evaluations; adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Maintain a positive classroom atmosphere by applying effective classroom management techniques and fostering an encouraging learning environment.
• Support students with special education needs or those requiring additional assistance by implementing inclusive teaching strategies.
• Document student performance and communicate progress with parents or guardians when appropriate.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with high school students or in an educational setting, demonstrating strong classroom experience or tutoring success.
• Extensive knowledge of math disciplines including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, physiology knowledge, anatomy knowledge, data structures, differential equations, discrete math, electrical engineering concepts, mechanical engineering principles, chemical engineering fundamentals, computer science topics including algorithms and machine learning basics.
• Ability to develop engaging lesson plans and adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles using innovative instructional techniques.
• Competence in utilizing learning technology platforms and computer skills to facilitate interactive lessons.
• Familiarity with classroom management strategies to maintain an organized and respectful environment.
• Strong communication skills to clearly explain complex concepts and motivate students.
• Experience working with children or in early childhood education is a plus; preschool experience or childcare background is advantageous.
• Knowledge of adult education principles is beneficial for mentoring older students or peer tutors.
