Paralegal

Dayan Law LLP is a boutique litigation firm with three attorneys—Albert Y. Dayan, Nicholas Dayan, and Joshua Dayan—handling personal injury and criminal defense matters. We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join our growing practice and work closely with attorneys on a wide range of injury cases.

Position Overview:

This position is full-time, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm. The Personal Injury Paralegal will play a critical role in managing cases from intake through resolution. This position requires a strong understanding of the procedural requirements and practical "ins and outs" of personal injury law, including litigation, discovery, and settlement preparation.

Types of Cases:

The paralegal will work on a broad range of injury matters, including but not limited to:

• Motor vehicle accidents
• Slip and fall / premises liability
• Medical malpractice
• Police brutality and civil rights violations
• False arrest and false imprisonment
• Other personal injury matters

Responsibilities:

• Help manage personal injury cases from inception through settlement or trial
• Conduct client intake and maintain regular client communication
• Help draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery demands, discovery responses, and bills of particulars
• Assist with depositions, hearings, and trial preparation
• Track deadlines, statutes of limitations, and court filings
• Obtain, review, organize, and summarize medical records and billing
• Prepare settlement packages and assist with demand letters
• Assist to coordinate with courts, opposing counsel, experts, and medical providers
• Maintain organized digital and physical case files
• Support attorneys with legal research and case strategy as needed

Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a Personal Injury Paralegal is required (No experience in Criminal Defense Needed)
• Strong knowledge of New York personal injury procedure and litigation
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced litigation environment

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
