American Jewelry and Loan is the premier operator of pawnshops in Michigan. We are nationally known for our store at 8 Mile and Greenfield and operate 4 other locations in Hazel Park, Pontiac, Lincoln Park and Southgate.

We are in a period of exciting growth and looking for retail management professionals with strong, confident leadership skills to join our team. A successful candidate must have the ability to quickly learn, understand and adapt to a highly successful organization and bring demonstrated skills as we grow existing operations both in terms of volume and locations.

Successful candidates:

• Demonstrate the ability to build a team capable of achieving operational excellence through effective delegation and follow-up.
• Understand Profit and Loss statements with focus on managing and moving all merchandise ranging from fine jewelry to electronics to home furnishings.
• Able to report to owners and be a part of a leadership team with focus on understanding current business trends and future business needs.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of proven leadership track record in sales or at a multiunit level
• 2 + years of retail sales experience
• Proven track record training and development highly successful teams
• Interpersonal skills to deal with all personality types in a friendly, courteous, and polite manner.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing retail environment.
• Self-direction and motivation
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Bi-lingual a plus

Job Type: Full-time
