Overview

J2E Technology is seeking a
Management Analyst – Configuration Management
to support a Department of Defense (DoD) program. This role focuses on planning, coordinating, and managing configuration management (CM) processes to ensure system integrity, traceability, and compliance throughout the system lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting complex technical programs in secure environments and possess strong analytical, documentation, and coordination skills.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining alignment between system requirements, design documentation, baselines, and operational configurations while ensuring compliance with DoD standards and program governance.

Key ResponsibilitiesConfiguration Management & Governance

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Configuration Management plans, procedures, and policies in accordance with DoD and program requirements.
  • Establish and manage configuration baselines, including functional, allocated, and product baselines.
  • Control and track configuration items (CIs) throughout the system lifecycle.

Change Control & Documentation

  • Support the Configuration Control Board (CCB) process, including preparing change packages, impact analyses, and tracking change requests.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of configuration changes, approvals, and implementation status.
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, design artifacts, and system configurations.

Program & Stakeholder Support

  • Coordinate with engineering, systems, cybersecurity, and program management teams to ensure configuration alignment.
  • Provide configuration status accounting and reporting to program leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support audits, reviews, and inspections by ensuring CM artifacts are accurate and up to date.

Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with applicable DoD standards, policies, and contract requirements related to configuration management.
  • Identify gaps in CM processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and data integrity.
  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives across the program.

QualificationsEducation and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting configuration management activities on DoD or federal programs.
  • Experience working in secure or controlled environments preferred.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of configuration management principles and lifecycle processes.
  • Experience with change control, configuration baselining, and status accounting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work under strict compliance and governance requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with DoD configuration management standards and best practices.
  • Experience supporting technical or engineering programs.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or other CM/document management systems.
  • Experience preparing materials for CCBs, technical reviews, and audits.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
