Job Description:
Performs and supervises a variety of duties including snow removal, replacing light bulbs, equipment and building repairs, painting and other duties assigned.
Building Maintenance:
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical equipment.
Grounds Maintenance:
Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of grounds surrounding St. Otto's Care Center.
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for knowing and demonstrating St. Otto's Values while performing all job functions. Operationalizes values with employees, residents, visitors, and other contacts.
2. Directs and manages work load and flow. Insures that efficient and effective services are delivered. Utilizes human, financial and property resources with proficiency.
3. Directs all safety procedures, policies and manufactures instructions when applicable. Responsible for prevention (or proactive) of unsafe work situations. Assist with the safety program. Provides educational training opportunities for staff.
4. Directs all housekeeping and custodial duties. Maintains procedures and policies for department.
5. Communication effectively the interdisciplinary team.
6. Helps develops and follows annual budget. Directs and manages the control of cost-effective services that include proper use of equipment, appropriate use of supplies, and organization of department duties.
7. Promotes a customer-orientated approach to enable the facility to be the provider of choice for area residents. Directs the commitment to assuring customer satisfaction.
8. Identifies and brings needs and concerns involving safety/risk management/infection control/ education/emergency procedures and Quality Improvement issues to Administrator.
9. Recruits, hires, trains, and motivates staff to meet services needs of customers, department, and facility. Collaborates with human resource department with interpretation and appropriate policies and procedures.
10. Assumes responsibility for enhancing personal and professional development. Maintain accountability of Housekeeping/Custodial duties and assignments within established guidelines. Provide positive & negative feedback and education daily.
11. Responsible for maintaining appropriate attendance, health, and hygiene according to departmental and position standards. Always maintains confidentiality.
Skills:
1. Education and Training: Previous experience with supervision, electrical, general maintenance.
2. Experience: Completion of St. Otto's Care Center orientation program. Orientation, training, and development will be given to obtain desired entry level competency in lieu of experience.
3. Knowledge and skills: Knowledge of general maintenance procedures, and regulations.
4. Mental Application: Demonstrates the ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 90% of the work day when assisting with analysis of complex problems. Demonstrates the ability to problem-solve and make decisions concerning facility issues, and function independently as allowed by practice. Practice good interpersonal skills which allow for effective communication with P interdisciplinary team. Varying degree of mental stress is dependent on coordination of job responsibilities and regulatory oversight.
5. Worker Characteristics: Assume responsibility and accountability for actions taken independently and as delegated by administrator. Demonstrates initiative and good judgment in achieving delegated objectives.
6. Hazards and Risks: For tasks in planned and emergency situations, involving exposure to blood borne pathogens and body fluids. Periodic exposure to one or more health hazards and physical risks in lifting or performing maintenance duties.
Hours:
Hours as scheduled, on call as needed.
Pay: $ $40.00 per hour
