Performs, analyzes, interprets clinical laboratory testing in the following laboratory scientific disciplines: Blood Transfusion Services, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, Serology, Virology, Coagulation, and Immunology.
Essential Functions:
- Recognizes and acts on Critical Value results according to procedure manuals and reports them out promptly.
- Performs required quality control analysis according to the procedure manual and reports any unresolved problems to the Lab Director before reporting outpatient results.
- Properly logs and reports all results according to procedure manuals.
- Understands principles and maintains knowledge of instrumentation required to be used in all laboratory testing.
- Performs preventive maintenance and repair of equipment as needed according to procedure manuals and manufacture specifications.
- Varied work schedule including day/nights/weekends and rotating holidays
Requirements
Education and Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field.
- ASCP, MLS(ASCPi), NCA, AMT, MT (AMT) or MT (HEW) certification required.
- Willingness and ability to work a varied work schedule including day/nights/weekends and rotating holidays.
- Successful candidates are subject to a pre-employment physical and drug screen and must pass a background screening within the first 30 days of working.
