Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer designs, maintains, and improves electrical systems and controls supporting manufacturing operations. This role ensures equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency through hands-on engineering support, the development of preventive maintenance, automation programming, and compliance with electrical standards.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, controls, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair issues involving motors, control panels, transformers, lighting, and automation systems.
  • Develop and enhance preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
  • Program, test, and maintain PLC and HMI systems for manufacturing automation.
  • Support electrical and controls-related process improvements and engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Assist with procurement and management of electrical parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, and applicable electrical and safety standards.
  • Prepare and maintain electrical schematics, documentation, and reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) or equivalent technical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical systems design, PLC/HMI programming, and industrial controls.
  • At least 5 years of leadership or project management experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, control circuits, and safety practices.
  • Proficiency with PLC/HMI platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and AutoCAD.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70, IEC, and IEEE standards.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. The role requires standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
