Job Summary: As a warehouse associate you will be responsible for moving, organizing, assembling, and packing materials within a warehouse or distribution center. This job requires physical strength, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The essential job functions include the following:
- Reading and interpreting assembly instructions for furniture pieces
- Inspecting and quality checking finished products to ensure they meet company standards
- Disassembling and reassembling furniture as necessary for transport or repair
- Verify the accuracy of materials received and shipped
- Count and record inventory as required
- Using hand and power tools to assemble furniture
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse or distribution center
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing protective gear as required
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure efficient and effective warehouse operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of experience working in a warehouse or distribution center preferred
- Ability to read and interpret written instructions and inventory documents
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and stand for long periods of time
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required
Work conditions:
- Work is performed in a warehouse environment
- May be exposed to dust, noise, and other hazards
- May be required to work in varying temperatures
- May be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical demands:
- Lifting and carrying merchandise and boxes of varying weights
- Extended periods of standing and walking
- Bending, stooping, and reaching to access items and tools
- Using fine motor skills for handling small parts and equipment
- Performing repetitive motions such as fastening screws or attaching components
- Needing physical stamina and endurance
