About the Opportunity:
Consulting Services is a global team with extensive experience in power system studies, including analysis of shunt and series compensations and applications of SVCs, FACTS, HVDC, synchronous condensers, STATCOMs, and dynamic controls for power plants and transmission systems. The team utilizes leading power system simulation and analysis software such as PSLF, PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD, EMTP, ASPEN, ETAP, and specialized in-house tools. The focus includes voltage control, reactive planning, and detailed stability studies of transmission systems, generation interconnections, renewable generation impacts, subsynchronous resonance, and control interactions.
Responsibilities:
• Perform technical analysis on power electronic and power systems control for renewable generation, battery energy storage, large industrial drives, and FACTS
• Provide power systems engineering support including modeling, analysis, equipment design, specification, and failure mode analysis
• Develop and modify simulation models representing inverter-based resource (IBR) products such as wind turbines, solar, and battery storage
• Evaluate grid code compliance standards and their effects on renewable energy projects in bulk power systems
• Support development of transmission and distribution connected IBR and distributed energy resource (DER) products via participation in industry standards groups
• Conduct power system transient studies and detailed equipment modeling using appropriate software tools
• Prepare detailed written reports and presentations for internal and external customers describing analyses, solutions, and value propositions
• Present technical content at regional forums and conferences; serve as a thought leader in industry activities
• Collaborate in a team environment emphasizing quality, customer service, and innovation
Requirements:
• Master's degree in electrical engineering or electric power engineering
• Minimum three years of industry experience performing transient analysis using PSCAD/EMTDC and EMTP
• Minimum three years of experience using programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or FORTRAN
• Strong background in power system analysis
• Solid understanding of inverter-based resource control system design and application considerations
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for project support, meetings, and industry events

Compensation:
• Pay range between $88,600.00 and $147,600.00 for U.S.-based candidates
• Geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% may apply depending on location
