Wastewater Plant Supervisor

Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Wastewater Plant Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our facility in Atmore, Al. This role involves managing treatment processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining the efficient functioning of plant equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, familiarity with water treatment systems, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment dedicated to environmental safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily wastewater treatment operations to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
• Operate and monitor programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to manage plant processes effectively.
• Perform equipment repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting on pumps, tanks, heavy equipment, plumbing, and other plant machinery.
• Oversee data collection related to water quality, flow rates, and treatment efficiency for reporting and analysis purposes.
• Conduct analysis of treatment data to optimize processes and identify areas for improvement.
• Lead maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance schedules and repairs to ensure continuous plant operation.
• Train and supervise plant personnel in operational procedures, safety protocols, and emergency response.
• Participate in construction projects or upgrades related to water treatment infrastructure as required.

Experience

• Must currently hold an ADEM Wastewater Operator III certification.
• Proven experience with wastewater treatment processes, including knowledge of water treatment systems and heavy equipment operation.
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and basic automation controls.
• Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair, plumbing, and general maintenance of industrial machinery.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data for process optimization.
• Background in construction or infrastructure projects involving water treatment facilities is a plus.
• Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and data analysis.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a wastewater treatment or industrial environment is advantageous. This position offers an opportunity to lead critical operations within a dynamic wastewater treatment facility dedicated to environmental stewardship in Atmore, AL.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70, $85,000.00 per year
