Job Summary/Basic Function
The Academic Advisor reports to the Director of Academic Advising. The ECE Academic Advisor will work closely with department leadership and the COEN advising office to facilitate premium support for the Department's academic programs. Position responsibilities include building relationships with students to help them identify viable academic goals and degree plans through clear communication of policies and procedures; facilitate student exploration and understanding of academic skills, strengths, and challenges; orienting students to university curricular and co-extra-curricular opportunities. This position will help students lay the foundation for success at Boise State University.

Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.
Essential Functions
95% of the time the Academic Advisor 1 must:
Academic Advising
Provide academic advising to Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering majors, focusing on:
- Advising of departmental, college, and university policies and procedures
- Information on degree programs and creation of academic plans for meeting graduation requirements.
- Monitoring of student progress through the Student Success Hub (SSH), including documentation of advising through up to date advising notes.
- First-term required advising (RAD) sessions and registration advising for new incoming students as part of new student orientation for first year and
