Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for young children aged 1 to 3 years. This role involves guiding toddlers through developmental activities, fostering social-emotional growth, and supporting early learning milestones. This person will also lead with nature based and forest pedegogies. They will do many sensory projects and field trips. The Toddler Teacher will collaborate with colleagues and families to ensure each child's individual needs are met, promoting a positive foundation for lifelong learning.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Supervise and interact with children during daily activities, including playtime, mealtime, nap time, and learning exercises.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care by adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Foster positive behavior management strategies to encourage cooperation and social skills.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and any concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment conducive to learning and exploration.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by implementing individualized care plans when necessary.
- Keep accurate records of children's developmental milestones and daily activities.
- Follow all licensing regulations and company policies related to childcare standards.
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Experience with classroom management techniques tailored for toddlers.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in special education or working with children with disabilities is a plus.
- Background in caregiving roles such as nannying or babysitting can be valuable assets.
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies and creating inclusive environments for children with diverse needs is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, families, and team members in a nurturing manner. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young children's lives while fostering their growth in a supportive educational environment.
